“It’s great!” enthuses Jim Tuhakaraina of his refurbished Brevio T600 motorhome.
Jim says the style and set up of the Brevio were just what he and his partner Janice Donnelly were looking for. “It’s got a good layout, looks nice and is really comfortable. It really suits us,” he says. “We checked around and Smart RV had the better vehicles.”
The Brevio was delivered to his home in Nelson about five months ago, and since then Jim and Janice have been out exploring the coast and local bike trails. Jim’s always been a keen camper but says the Brevio has been a welcome replacement for the trusty tent and is better than going to a motel.
“We’ve been doing shorter trips, mostly weekends,” he says. “We usually stay in holiday parks with all the extra comforts but we use DoC campgrounds too.” The Brevio has tackled the Nelson area’s hills and roads with ease. “The handling is excellent, like a car,” Jim reports. “It’s quiet and easy on fuel. We’re getting 100 kilometres per 11 litres.”
Jim has also found the Bürstner Owners Club to be a handy resource. “You can see what other owners are up to and the Facebook page got me sorted out when I couldn’t find one of the buttons.”
“One of my favourite features is the swivel seats,” says Jim. “They’re a really good idea and give you plenty of room.” He does have one suggestion though. “They’re really comfortable seats but a sheepskin would top it off nicely,” he laughs.
